Luke 8:16-18 NIV
“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them.”
I’m reminded of the Sunday school “This little light of mine” you remember the song right? This little light of mine
I’m going to let it shine
Oh, this little light of mine
I’m going to let it shine.
Refrain: This little light of mine
I’m going to let it shine
Let it shine, all the time, let it shine.
Do you too see the love of Christ shining through the darkness of sin and temptation and fear? You are the light of Christ in this darkened world. You, the LWML Lutheran Women in Mission bring the light and make it seen so that it is not hidden in a clay jar. The Lord works miracles for the benefit of all who yearn for peace and understanding and love. Do not let the power of the temptor overwhelm or destroy you, separating you from the light. Jesus brought light and gives it to each of you enabling His Gospel to go from you to all whom you encounter.
Pray earnestly: Lord, use every gift we have sharing the light of Salvation through Christ in every place you send us and let us always give you the glory as the angels in heaven rejoice as another person becomes a child of God. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
